Sometimes all you can do is laugh. That’s the subtitle of this site and on more days that not lately it seems so appropriate. The Associated Press is reporting this morning that more than $98 billion in taxpayer funds has been spent “inappropriately”. Not that this is such a surprise. Government is a disaster. They do very few things well (i.e. defense…and under Obama we’ll have to see how that goes) and pretty much suck at everything else. But the really amusing part of this AP story is this little jewel:

President Barack Obama is expected to sign an executive order within the next week aimed at cracking down on government waste and fraud, particularly in Medicare and other benefit programs. Seriously Mr. President?

If that isn’t the whipped cream on this excrement sunday, try this one:

“We need to protect taxpayer dollars,” Peter Orszag, director of the Office of Management and Budget, told reporters. “Every dollar that goes to the wrong recipient or in the wrong amount is a dollar not available to help an unemployed worker, or to invest in education or key priorities of the administration.”

And the hits just keep on coming. The piece goes on to say that “Under the executive order, every federal agency would have to maintain a Web site that tracks improper payments, error rates and outstanding payments.” If I didn’t read it my self I wouldn’t have believed it. It was just this week that Recovery.gov, Obamas web site for tracking stimulus money, was discovered to contain glaring errors in how many jobs have been “Created or Saved.” Apparently Obama and company are so good at “Creating or Saving jobs” that they can do it in Congressional districts that DON’T EVEN EXIST! Wow! Well, I guess when you are the Messiah you can do whatever you want where ever you want to do it….even if those places don’t exist. But lets not get caught up in the details.
The administration maintains that the errors in data were caused by people going to the site and entering “Created or Saved” data but that these people did not know what Congressional district they lived in. When asked if the numbers would be corrected, the response was a simple, “no, the data will stand.”
So let me see if I’m following along here considering that I went to public school.

We have citizens that went to this $18 million dollar Recovery.gov site to enter data about “Created or Saved” jobs.
One would assume that if these folks are going to this site to enter “Created or Saved” job data that they would be fairly active or interested in politics. If they had no interest, why would they go?
So our fairly involved/informed citizen goes to Recovery.gov, enters some numbers about “Created or Saved” jobs that came from God knows where, and doesn’t know what district they’re in. Oops! Forget looking it up, we’ve spent enough time making up “Created or Saved” numbers and Fantasy Island is coming on……let’s just throw a number in there.

Huh? This is what the American people are supposed to believe? Count me out!

This president has outspent every president in the history of this nation. And now he wants to imply that his administration is going to become fiscally responsible? The only joke bigger than that statement is this President and his administration.
